It is important to us to make an effective contribution to climate and environmental protection. For us, this goes hand in hand with the economical use of resources and responsibility for our employees. We promote sustainable thinking and action within the company and at the product level.
Together with ClimatePartner, we have calculated our corporate carbon footprint (CCF). This includes direct emissions generated within the company (power and heat generation, vehicle fleet, volatile gases) and indirect emissions from purchased energy, business travel and employee commuting. This has given us a comprehensive picture of where emissions are produced and what measures we need to take to reduce CO₂.
Our emissions correspond to the CO₂ footprint of around 17 Europeans (by way of comparison, a person in Europe causes an average of 8.7 tons of CO₂ per year). Only one percent of the emissions are caused by Inxmail's activities (Scope 1 emissions). The remaining 99 percent (Scope 3 emissions) are caused by activities outside of Inxmail – for example, employees' commutes, home offices, electronic devices, heat or operational waste.
We offset the emissions that we cannot avoid by supporting a climate protection project from the ClimatePartner portfolio. Our project protects the oceans by preventing plastic waste from entering them. This also allows us to work towards improving the living conditions of the communities that collect the plastic. In doing so, we are also helping to achieve the global Sustainable Development Goals, such as combating poverty and improving living conditions in emerging and developing countries.
We are actively committed to environmental protection and ecological sustainability. We want to have a positive impact on the planet and therefore work sparingly with the resources available to us.
We also see social engagement as part of our corporate responsibility. With the help of our workforce, we therefore also support social projects.
