Greater efficiency in creation

For VKF Renzel, the newsletter is an important sales driver. All items in the email campaigns should be presented in such a way as to spark the customers' interest in buying. The wide range of products and large number of shops in different languages required technological and advisory support in email marketing.

Previously, creating the mailing was associated with a great deal of effort. The product data from the online shops was transferred manually – and that was for newsletters in 16 different countries. A connection of the email marketing solution to the shop system used, OXID eShop, was therefore at the top of the list of requirements.

A newsletter template in the design of the online shop was also required, which would enable simple newsletter creation and at the same time a professional appearance. Web tracking should also be integrated for more targeted communication.

Implementation

Optimal product presentation in the newsletter

The sales promotion expert regularly sends information about special offers, new products or seasonal items in its newsletter. In spring, for example, it advertises A-boards for outdoor advertising.

The design of the mailings is aligned with the online shop. Colors, buttons and other elements are taken from the website. The uniform communication across both channels ensures a high recognition value.

Whether the layout has one or more columns, the products are always presented perfectly in the newsletter: large images and highlighted prices ensure that readers quickly grasp the key content. And it doesn't matter whether the newsletter is read on a PC, smartphone or tablet. A button that takes the reader directly to the shop is also included. All of this helps to achieve the goal of offering customers a shopping experience and guiding them to the point of sale.

Solution

Efficient transfer of product data

The link between the OXID eShop and the Inxmail email marketing platform makes it easy to integrate content from all VKF Renzel online shops into the newsletters of the individual countries. All that is required is the product number or product ID. Texts, images and prices are automatically integrated into the mailing and can be edited if necessary.

This can be done using an Inxmail newsletter template. The template also offers the option of storing parameters for the econda web analysis tool. This allows VKF Renzel to evaluate all further interactions of newsletter recipients in the online shop and use them specifically to optimize follow-up campaigns.

Results

Accelerated workflow

Increasing efficiency when creating mailings was an important requirement for VKF Renzel. The results speak for themselves: editors now only need half the time they needed before the introduction of the email marketing solution. This leaves more resources for the important things: the content itself and its optimization.

The figures show that the mailings in the new look have been well received:

  • the average opening rate is 34%.
  • Newsletters targeted at specific industries achieve click-through rates of up to 14% and click-to-open rates of over 50%.
